Golf

One of the most popular sports watched on the TV is Golf and in particular. Probably because so many people play the sport it now has such a fantastic following worldwide. There is one man that is the sport of golf at the moment and that is Tiger Woods and he is on a mission to beat Jack Nicklaus's record for the most number of Major victories and he is closing down on this record with only another four to equal his record.

The Masters

The Masters is played at Augusta each year and is the first of the Majors in the season. The Masters is famous for the Green Jacket which the winner receives. Augusta is also well known for the very tough amen corner and this is the 11th, 12th and 13th holes which are one of the most difficult of any course on the circuit.

The US Open

The US Open is the second Major of the year played in June each year. Unlike the Masters which is played at the same venue year on year the US Open Golf is staged at a new venue each season. This is done in order to give the US golf fans the opportunity to see a major at some point in a location that maybe not to far away. The US Open is usually set up by the organisers to be a real challenge for the players and this usually results in low scoring.

The Open

The is played in the UK and is unique in that it is usually played on a links course. A links course is based near the sea and as such is open to all the elements which usually makes it a very stern test for the players, especially for the Americans as they are much more used to playing parkland style courses.

The USPGA

The USPGA Championship is the final Major of the season and it does not have the same kudos as the other three majors, nevertheless as it is a major it always has the top players from around the World in attendance.
